Winter jobs
The cavity waxing bay has been pretty heavily booked up lately. Most car owners only begin to think of getting their car protected once the weather has turned which is quite illogical when you think about it. However, around early January, there’s usually a lull in bookings for a short time and so if you were thinking about treating your car to some inclement weather protection, now’s a good time to book yourself in. Don’t forget- the cavity waxing bay welcomes modern cars as well as the classics.
Another odd practice that us classic car owners tend to go for is to lay the old car up at this time of year and then around May when you want to jump into the car and enjoy some early spring motoring we are all queuing up at the MOT station or worse still queuing up at the local garage for some emergency patching up. Why not make it your new years resolution to get the car through an MOT in January. That way the car will be ready to go when the spring comes around.

Deadlines looming - 24th Feb 2011
As usual there is so much going on at the moment that I really haven't had the time to get any updates on the system. Even as I write this there are several pressing jobs that I need to get done.
As spring moves nearer so do some deadlines that I'm keen not to miss. The Triumph Spitfire 2liter or GT6 Roadster depending on your view point is supposed to be away by the end of this month and the carburettors have still not arrived.
This week...
This week certainly has been full. Starting off on Monday we had a delegate from the My vision photography workshop. This is where top professional photographers are assigned to a destination to capture a day in the life of. We were lucky to be invited to be one of the venues last year and even more lucky to be chosen again this year.
However this year didn't run quite so smoothly for our delegate Rob who had his work cut out in trying to find a theme to work to for his project. Beau and I spent most of the day with our heads buried in various cars and Sadie was just going to have none of it.
Last week in the workshop..
What a week. It feels like more than seven days since last Saturday. On the whole it's been quite a successful week and many projects have been completed. A few more have got to the almost complete stage or are onto the final snagging list. Next week should see a little change in the workshop as vehicles go home.

Blog:
As usual, I’ve only just become accustomed to writing 1210 on my cheques when they change the year again. It sometimes feels as if we are working away down here and not really getting anywhere. It’s only when I scroll through some of the blog entries for the past six months that I realise how far we have come.
As mentioned on our home page one of my ambitions is to set up a project page for each of the pojects currently being undertaken. This is quite a task, here’s our current stock list:
Tuesday 21st December Stripping the Rover and welding on the Spitfire
It was quite a busy day yesterday. For me it was a bit broken up because I had to make a pointless trip into the bank only to find that they had a power cut. Perhaps I should fine £90.00 them for not completing my transactions on time. Not that I have anything against greedy money grabbing banks.
Back to the classics.
MK3 before blast cleaning.
Friday 17th December 2010
In many ways the past seven days have been very successful. It's also been slightly frustrating as I have frequently been off of the shop floor.
The main project at the moment is the second of our Rover P5B coupes ( GOV). This is more fully written up on the projects page. I have to say that getting the paint re-done was a good move, as was having our local trimmer make up an accurate replica set of carpets. All the parts now going on are bringing the car back to life. We are currently waiting for the illusive engineer to arrive to tell up what's happening to the up-rated engine.
